Rod Fox Rod is the former Chief Executive Officer of Praetorian Financial Group. Praetorian was a wholly owned subsidiary of Hannover Re (formerly Clarendon Insurance Group) before it was sold to the QBE Group in June of 2007. Rod and his team orchestrated a dramatic re-structuring and turnaround of the former Clarendon Insurance Group prior to the sale. He is currently starting a new company with another partner to specialize in re-packaging risk using an MGA as the initial platform. The new company will be called New Asset Class Management. Rod is an insurance industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience. Prior to his appointment at Praetorian, Rod was Chief Executive Officer of the North American Operations of Benfield where he oversaw all aspects of the business and led a number of significant industry transactions including the formation of Montpelier Re. Most recently, Mr. Fox helped launch Benfield’s corporate risk insurance brokerage business. Previously, he spent 15 years at E.W. Blanch, where he served as President and Chief Operating Officer. Rod has been an active member of both public and private boards of directors for several organizations including Praetorian Financial Group, Benfield Group, Benfield Greig, and E.W. Blanch Holdings. In 2002, Rod was recognized by Business Insurance as one of the industry’s rising stars for significant business achievements at a young age. He received a bachelor’s degree from Middlebury College in 1985, and graduated from the Executive Risk Management program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School in 1996. He also holds the CPCU designation. Rod resides with his family in New Canaan, Connecticut. |
